Within the project EQUIPEX PLADIFES “PLATFORM OF NUMERICAL COMPUTATION, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND WORLD DATABASE OF HIGH-FREQUENCY ENVIRONMENTAL, FINANCIAL AND SOCIETAL DATA”, you will be in charge of monitoring the development of the existing Daily and High Frequency (BEDOFIH) financial databases managed by EUROFIDAI, and the integration of new environnemental, societal and governance (ESG) data. Under the supervision of EUROFIDAI’s director, your main missions will be the implementation and validation of the scientific, methodological and technical characteristics of the daily and high frequency database projects of EUROFIDAI, including the integration of new ESG data, as well as the management of the project from the data collection from suppliers until the production of meaningful, easy to use, reliable databases for researchers. You will act as an interface between EUROFIDAI and current and potential users, offering 3rd level technical and scientific support, present and promote the daily and high frequency databases and conduct research projects using EUROFIDAI’s databases.

Description of the company
EUROFIDAI (European financial data institute) is a research institute of the CNRS (Centre National pour la Recherche Scientifique) created in 2003. Its main mission is to develop European financial databases for academic researchers in finance. EUROFIDAI is the only academic research institute in Europe developing financial databases for academic researchers in finance. It proposes a wide range of financial databases for European including stocks, indices, exchange rates, mutual funds, corporate events for the daily database and market trades and orders for the high frequency European database.
EUROFIDAI is part of the Equipex PLADIFES with the ESSEC Business School and the Institut Louis Bachelier (ILB) with the objective to develop and promote the use of financial and extra financial (ESG) data in the academic community.
Founded in 1907, ESSEC Business School is a French higher education institution with campuses in France, Singapore and Morocco. According to the FT, in 2020, ESSEC ranked 6th among the business school in Europe with its Master in Management and Master in Finance respectively ranking 3rd and 4th worldwide. Through the CERESSEC, the School implements its research strategy, which is part of its core missions, and provide financial and logistic resources to its researchers.
Created in 2008, the Institut Louis Bachelier is a network organization funding, disseminating and promoting excellent research in economics and finance. With over 40 research programs under management; about 350 researchers and 70 engaged partner institutions (companies and public entities), the Institut Louis Bachelier brings together academic institutions, economic partners and public authorities. The institute is neutral, funded through patronage and public resources. Research teams are therefore totally independent. The institute allows, furthermore, to draw upon the best researchers from European, American and Asian academic institutions.

Description of the profile
- Desired level of education: PhD in finance, financial economics or econometrics, financial mathematics
- Knowledge of European financial markets, their functioning and regulation
- Competences in statistics
- Knowledge of high frequency financial data
- Skills in data processing and analysis (SAS, SQL, C++,…)
- Skills in English (verbal and written)
- Strong writing skills, rigor and analytical power
- Project management skills and ability to work in a team
1 to 3 years of experience in research, consulting or market finance (front office, trading).
